To recap:  This is a collection of twenty short stories, inspired by the many women I met in the ten years I lived in a Ladies' Dormitory.  Young women who spoke different languages, lived their regional idiosyncratic ways and carried their hopes for a future in the city.  Women who became immigrants to America where they sought and found the fulfillment of their dreams and the ending of their stories that began in a dormitory in the Philippines.

This book is also about Filipino traditions and friendship unheard of today.
But most of all, this book is about first love.
